These Terms explain the rules for using lash, including the iOS app, longasssectionhike.com, related websites, and support flows that link to these Terms.
By creating an account, accepting these Terms during registration, or using lash, you agree to follow them.
1. What lash provides
lash is a social travel app. It lets people create a profile, publish spot and travel posts, upload photos, add captions and location information, browse and search travel content, comment, follow other users, like or save posts, receive notifications, report content or accounts, and block other users.
Some features may be limited, experimental, unavailable in certain builds, or changed over time. We may add, remove, or adjust features to improve safety, reliability, compliance, or product quality.
2. Eligibility
You may use lash only if you can lawfully use online services in your country and enter into this agreement. lash is not intended for children under 13.
If local law requires consent from a parent or legal guardian before you can use online services, you may use lash only with that valid consent.
3. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login details secure. Do not share your account, use someone else's account, impersonate another person, or create accounts through automated means.
lash may use verification, password reset, email-change confirmation, sign-in, reauthentication, and similar security checks. You agree not to bypass or misuse these protections.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us as soon as possible.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create or upload to lash. This can include profile information, usernames, display names, bios, profile images, post titles, captions, travel introductions, photos, location names, coordinates, location descriptions, comments, reports, and feedback.
You are responsible for making sure you have the rights needed to post your content and that it follows these Terms and applicable law.
When you submit content, you allow lash to store, review, adapt, display, share, and make that content available as needed to run, protect, improve, and promote the Service. This includes creating previews, showing your content in search or feeds, sending related notifications, and keeping backups where needed.
This permission ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except where we need to keep limited information for security, legal compliance, backups, audit logs, or enforcement.
5. Public content and location safety
Public profile information, posts, comments, and some interaction signals may be visible to other users. Do not post private information you do not want others to see.
lash is built around travel and location context. You choose what location information to share. Do not publish another person's home, live location, workplace, school, or any other sensitive place where disclosure could create a safety risk.
lash content is informational and social. It is not travel, legal, medical, safety, emergency, or navigation advice. You remain responsible for your own plans, local law compliance, physical safety, and respect for private property and local communities.
6. Prohibited content and behavior
You must not use lash to post, promote, facilitate, or encourage:
- Illegal activity or unlawful content.
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse.
- Hate, discrimination, dehumanization, or attacks based on protected characteristics.
- Sexual exploitation, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate content, or content that sexualizes minors.
- Graphic violence, credible threats, self-harm encouragement, or instructions for harm.
- Defamation, fraud, scams, phishing, spam, deceptive activity, or impersonation.
- Infringement of copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights.
- Malware, scraping, credential harvesting, automated abuse, circumvention of security protections, or attempts to disrupt the Service.
- Posting another person's personal data without permission.
- False reports, abusive appeals, or misuse of moderation and safety tools.
- Commercial advertising, promotions, or mass outreach without our permission.
We may also restrict content that does not fit the travel, social, and safety purpose of lash, even if that content is not illegal.
7. Moderation, reporting, and blocking
lash uses safety controls to protect users and the Service. These may include safety tools, user reports, review processes, blocking features, and measures that help identify misuse.
We may remove, block, limit visibility of, label, or refuse to publish content. We may also warn, restrict, suspend, deactivate, or terminate accounts when needed to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
You can report posts or accounts where reporting is available in the app. You can also block users; blocking may limit contact, visibility, interactions, and related notifications between you and the blocked user.
If you believe we made a mistake in a moderation or account decision, contact us with enough information for us to identify the decision. We may ask you to confirm your identity or account ownership before reviewing a request.
8. Feeds, search, and recommendations
lash may rank, filter, or recommend content in feeds, search, profile views, activity views, and discovery surfaces. Ranking can consider factors such as freshness, search relevance, location context, creator information, account relationships, engagement, safety, quality, and availability.
We do not guarantee that any content will appear in a specific position, be shown to a specific user, or remain available permanently.
9. Third-party services
lash works with trusted service providers to operate the Service. These providers may help with app distribution, account sign-in, hosting, media storage, notifications, email delivery, maps, location features, safety review, and similar product operations.
Your use of app stores, operating systems, maps, email clients, linked websites, and other third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
10. Our rights
The lash name, branding, software, designs, interfaces, systems, databases, code, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you ownership of the Service.
You may use lash only as allowed by these Terms. You must not copy, reverse engineer, exploit, sell, sublicense, or interfere with the Service, except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
11. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you allow us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. Please do not send confidential information as feedback unless we have separately agreed to receive it confidentially.
12. Account deletion
You may deactivate or delete your account through Account Settings where available, or by contacting us. Deletion may remove your account, profile, posts, drafts, media, social graph references, notifications, saved collections, block references, and related storage objects.
Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, audit logs, moderation records, security records, legal records, or records needed to protect other users and the Service.
13. Availability and changes
We aim to operate lash reliably, but the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent storage, or compatibility with every device, operating system, region, network, or third-party service.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service when needed for maintenance, safety, compliance, security, operations, or product reasons.
14. Disclaimers and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and representations not expressly stated in these Terms. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer rights, those rights remain unaffected.
15. Termination
You may stop using lash at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users or the Service, expose us or others to legal risk, repeatedly infringe rights, or use the Service in a way that is abusive, unsafe, or unlawful.
After termination, provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply, including provisions on ownership, retained content, moderation records, disclaimers, liability, governing law, and dispute handling.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, where required or where changes are significant, provide notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate channel.
If you continue using lash after updated Terms take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that apply in your country of residence.
If you are a consumer, you may bring claims in the courts available under mandatory consumer law. Otherwise, disputes will be resolved by the competent courts in Germany, unless applicable law requires another venue.
